Young People's Concert

The Asheville Symphony invites all 3rd through 5th grade students to a Young People's Concert on Wednesday April 9, 2008. We will be presenting concerts at 10:00AM and 12:15PM in the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, located in the Civic Center in downtown Asheville. Music Director and Conductor Daniel Meyer will be conducting a variety of selections representing some of the best orchestral music inspired by the Olympics. The concerts will be approximately 50 minutes in length. Musicalympics Program Michael Torke's Javelin Daniel will explain how music can be influenced by physical activities and the pageantry of sports events. He will talk about the similar preparations that musicians and athletes must perform to succeed in their careers A Work Study guide will be provided. Ticket price is $4.00 per attendee.
