Respighi Pines of Rome

As springtime in Asheville comes into full blossom, we offer a season finale that fits right in with the fresh colors. Schumann’s “Spring” Symphony begins with a heralding fanfare and quickly follows with bubbling energy and vivacity. Jennifer Koh and Benjamin Hochman are two of America’s finest young soloists, and they have agreed to team up to present another work filled with vernal enthusiasm – Mendelssohn’s Concerto for Piano and Violin. We will bring our season to a close with Respighi’s famous tone poem, Pines of Rome. It capitalizes on a myriad of instrumental colors from the orchestra to evoke scenes of tranquility, celebration, and sheer beauty. It’s our grand finale to a grand season of orchestral favorites.
