This concert is a farewell concert for the Asheville Symphony Chorus' founder, Conductor and Director of 20 years, Dewitt Tipton. For this very special day the Chorus will sing the beautiful Heritage Songs, by Stephen Paulus, which was commissioned by Mr. Tipton and the Asheville Symphony Chorus on the occasion of their 15th anniversary season in 2005. The work features arrangements of American folk songs and spirituals. Musicians of the Asheville Symphony will accompany the Chorus on flute, oboe, harp, piano and percussion. This concert is sure to be a special treat featuring our mountain musical heritage!
